TrayCap is the screen capture and image file viewing and converting utility, that's always handy, but never in the way. The only unimpressive thing about TrayCap is its screen shot, shown below.
 That's right. TrayCap is only an icon in the tray. If you were looking for a screen capture and image file utility that's a screen hog, this isn't it. Left click the tray icon, select the screen area to capture, then save the image to any one of the many image file formats that TrayCap supports.

TrayCap also offers the option of adding a Quick Launch Toolbar button or Desktop icon. You can run it from either, and close the tray icon. Whether you want to do a quick screen capture, or resize and convert a photo for sending by email, TrayCap will do it easier and quicker than a large graphics program. Don't be fooled by TrayCap's timid appearance; it's a powerful image file utility. TrayCap will open (view) image files of these types: .png, .jpg, .jpe, .jpeg, .bmp, .tga, .vda, .icb, .vst, .psd, .tif, .ico, .cur, .gif, .ppm, .pgm, .pnm, .pbm, .pix, .cut, .dcx, .mdl, .lif, .pcd, .mng, .psp, .pic, .pix, .bw, .rgb, .rgba, .sgi, .wal, .xpm, and .pcx. TrayCap will save (convert to) images to these types: .png, .jpg, .jpe, .jpeg, .bmp, .tga, .psd, .tif, .gif, .ppm, .pgm, .pbm, .bw, .rgb, .rgba, .sgi, and .pcx. From TrayCap's image view window, you can copy, resize, print, or convert the viewed image. Shown below is TrayCap's image view window.
TrayCap is now freeware.
